You know what’s funny—like not even six months ago I wasn’t into pinks so much but I SURE did put a lot of pinks into this series…lol. More than even what has come to be known as my signature–red! I had some overflow from the pinks and had to create a category to put the shades that are kinda coral-y and those that are plummy but not vampy so you’ve got this ;)

Colors like Girl About Town, All Fired Up, Show Orchid and Pink Pigeon are perfect with this pencil. Hot pink lipstick – Process Magenta is a the liner for you. Is a good light pink pencil for MAC lipsticks Snob, Pink Plaid and Angel. I’d recommend it for Nc15-Nc25 skin tones. Review by Agnirupa MAC Strength Collection Lipstick Pink Pigeon Let's face the truth about LE things, its not a good idea.Atleast, it might be a mighty marketing strategy of the bigwigs but for us- the poor, crazy, tortured make up addicts:( make up when it comes in limited editions is not at all good news.:( And oh well:-/ don't we know how much MAC loves their LE collections.bursting. Just like Candy Yum Yum, Pink Pigeon is too drying & patchy to be a $16 lipstick. I have WNW l/s that applies better. However I loved the color of Mac PP so went on the hunt for a quality dupe.

In case you’re coming to this series for the first time, you totally want to check out Part 1: The Nudes, Part 2: The Pinks, and Part 3: The Reds. I also want to remind you again, I did all of these in one sitting so if you look close and my lips look like they might have been on fire, it’s because they were…lol. But I committed to this and pushed through wiping off and putting on 50 shades of lipstick back to back because like Jay-Z once uttered in rhyme “I do this for my culture.” :D

If you love what I’ve done here, please feel free to share via Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook—put please make sure you tag me and link to this post. Also please don’t take these pics and my words and use them on your blog posts—don’t do me like that…lol. I’ve already had an incident like that happen (like Antoine Dobson said “We will find you!” lol) and it doesn’t feel pretty which is why I have the “watermark” that looks like it came from the Mr. T collection all up and through these pics. It takes away from the beauty of Nas of Nasilele Photography‘s beautiful work of photographing me (hit her up if you need wedding, anniversary, family portraits, head shots, or if you’re like me and want to have great photos of yourself while all your limbs still work) but the internet is kinda like NYC in the late 70s and 80s :x

Also how cute is this canvas I ordered from Nas of a photo she took of me earlier this year? I seriously need to re-do my whole entire home life and have a wall dedicated to photos of me—you know, to counter all the bad ones of me out there…lol.

Anyway, let’s get into this!

Sleek MakeUP Fandango Purple, a matte magenta that looks so much like MAC Flat Out Fabulous (goes on like a gloss and dries matte)

Milani Uptown Mauve, a cream with shine magenta pink

black | UP #19, a satin coral pink with a teeny bit of shimmer

Tom Ford Crimson Noir, a satin tomato (neutral) red

Votre Vu Margaux, a cream with shine berry red (OMG this lipstick is SOOOO comfy and moisturizing—it was like a relief to put it on after my lips went through 27 other lipsticks before it–sold here)

Pink pigeon mac dark skin lipstick

Hourglass Opaque Rouge in Empress, a matte rosy pink (goes on like a gloss, dries matte)

MAC Pink Pigeon, a matte bright bubble gum pink

black | UP #18, a satin coral

Milani Sangria, a cream berry red similar to MAC Rebel

Pink Pigeon Mac Dark Skin Cream

Bite Beauty Shiraz, a very creamy mauve pink

P.S. The makeup in all of these is the same and if you’re curious as to what my MUA pal Mila Thomas used, check out this post.

Review, Swatches and Dupe of MAC Lipstick Pink Pigeon

By Contributor: Samannita

When it comes to lipsticks I am always obsessed with pink shades, I don’t know why I always end up by buying the same shades from different brands. And here is the example of my stupid obsession..although I have Daddy’s Little Girl, Love Forever from MAC, I was still craving from Pink Pigeon. Pink pigeon is a Limited edition shade from Strength collection. And people like me are mad about LEs. And when it is a bright pink like Pink Pigeon, I guess the shade itself will say everything. Let’s start with my review and swatches.

MAC Claims: Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made M.A.C famous. Totally true for this lipstick

Pink Pigeon is a bright pink that might not suit dusky Indian skin tones but will look great on fair to medium skin tones. The shade in bright sunny weather looks awesome. It looks so neon pink on me which I really love. But the shade is such a chameleon..it looks different in different lights. But whatever the shade looks on me in whatever light I just love to see my lips again and again in my hand mirror that I always carry in my handbag! The pigmentation of the lipstick is awesome. A single swipe is enough to get the actual shade of the lipstick.

The finish is matte and the texture is so smooth. I don’t feel any pulling or tugging on my lips while applying the lipstick. As the lipstick is matte so application of lip balm prior to applying the lipstick is suggested for dry lips. And proper exfoliation is must before applying this lipstick else one will end up with flaky lips. The fragnance of the lipstick is the usual vanilla scent that vanishes within few minutes of application thus it is good for people with sensitive nose like me..as I don’t use a lot of my lipsticks due to their fragnance which I can’t tolerate. Anyways coming to the review again!

The staying power of the lipstick is pretty good. It stays for more than 6 hours on me and fades away leaving a nice light pink tint on my lips.

The lipstick although being a limited edition comes in the regular packaging of MAC lipsticks, but the shade always matters more than the packaging. And who wants to spend extra bucks just for the packaging? So I am really happy that the price was not increased for being limited edition.

  • The vanilla smell of the lipstick.
  • Pigmented.
  • 1-2 swipes give opaque coverage.
  • Ideal for most of the Indian skin tones.
  • Bright pink usually for fair to medium skin tone mostly.
  • Stays for 6 hours approx. on my lips.

My Recommendation: MAC Pink Pigeon Lipstick is a nice bright pink but as it is a limited shade so I guess it is now not available but you can find dupes of this shade in other brands too.
