Don't Let The Pigeon Stay Up Late Activities And Games
We then placed the pigeon inside. You could also glue him inside. I had the kids visit Mo Willem’s website all about the Pigeon books! They loved the games. We even had fun with printing out sheets and coloring them. At the end of the day, we read the book Don’t Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late! On day 1, you start with “Don’t Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late”. Throughout the book, Pigeon persuades the reader to stay up late because he is not tired. Students think of a time they’ve tried to persuade someone to them do something. This little guy wanted something so he tried to persuade his mom. After reading a 'sleep well' passage from a nonfiction book, I read Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late! We reviewed opinions and talked about how Pigeon was trying to convince us to let him stay up late. Students filled out a graphic organizer, with their opinion and 3 reasons, telling Pigeon why he shouldn't stay up late.
There’s nothing a teacher dreads more than being absent and having to prepare for a substitute teacher in preschool or kindergarten.
Substitute Woes
In addition to the preparations you have to make in advance for a substitute teacher, often while you’re sick, there’s always the fear that your students will go bonkers in your absence.
I’m sure this has never happened to you! When you’re absent, your little cherubs sit still and blink their wide, innocent eyes at the substitute teacher while patiently awaiting your return.
